Patricia Fenton, 55, died Monday, June 24 at her Wappingers Falls home from complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease.

In addition to her husband, Billy, she is survived by her children, Victoria Fenton, Alexa Fenton and Robert Fenton; her granddaughter, Evalisse Fenton; her siblings, Claudia Chiappardi, Janet Olson, Gail Buccellato, Francis Chiappardi, Vincent Chiappardi and Lisa Allis; many nieces and nephews.

A GoFundMe page has been started to help cover funeral expenses and medical bills. Any extra donations will be used to raise awareness for ALS, according to the fundraiser’s description.

“She was surrounded by the loved ones she buoyed with her exuberant spirit ever since her 2016 diagnosis with the disease,” write organizers Kyra Wiedenkeller and Bruce Stevens in the page’s description. “The entire family has been working tirelessly to make ends meet while their mother has been sick.”

Of the fundraiser’s $10,000 goal, about $2,000 has been raised in less than 24 hours. Several donors have commented with thoughts and photos to share their fond memories of Fenton.

Friends will be received on Friday, June 28 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home By Halvey located at 2 Beekman St. in Beacon.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, June 29 at 10 a.m. at St John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church located at 31 Willow St. in Beacon.
